1.) List out all the things you need to spend time practicing: music theory exercises, activities from books, and so on.
2.) Drawing on the list above, make yourself a practice plan for the coming week. Be sure to list out specific numbers of reps and sets for each exercise. For most exercises, 1-3 sets is plenty, with 5 to 10 reps per set.
NOTE: you may have more things to practice than you can realistically take on in a single week. That’s okay. Take on what you reasonably can, without exhausting yourself. Give priority to any areas that especially need work first, and then once those are whipped into shape, focus on your desired specialties.
