Verse One
Read all day in the shade of the weeping willow;
skin your knees on the bark of the apple tree.
Run to the swing
where your bare feet wore the grass away
I want to have just one more summer like that!
Verse Two
Lakeside: sunbeams squirming on the
water’s edge, the dock’s legs peeling red.
Rush down the rutted road back to the
windowpane glow
I want to have just one more summer like that!
(Instrumental bridge)
Verse Three
Spin like a pinwheel until you fall down.
Stand up, but the world’s still whirling around.
Rush down the rutted road back to the
windowpane glow
I want to have just one more summer like that!

This gorgeous tune was clearly very inspired. Man, I’ve read all your blog posts and have only heard one song up until now, “Throw Your Rider”. Perhaps that title could be used as a homophone for the word “writer”, as it seems you’ve put a lot of work in propelling yourself forward. Your songwriting, singing and guitar playing have all evolved considerably. (You threw your writing ahead). Side note: thanks for all the great work you put into this site, as you’ve been a huge influence in designing my launching pad. I look forward to hearing more music!
“Run to the swing where your bare feet wore the grass away.” Brilliant.

Hey thanks for listening Joshua. Glad you see signs of evolution here; I’m always working hard on technique. Really glad you’re finding the site useful, too. There’s a lot more to come. 😀
